Duties of this position include:

  • Assist in product development by performing technical and functional R&D

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven programming experience with ColdFusion 8+, Javascript, AJAX Frameworks, Flash, XHTML, and XML/XSLT (.NET a HUGE PLUS)
  • Well versed in writing SQL queries for MySQL and MSSQL server environment.
  • Development skills in Flex also very helpful
  • Experience developing high-availability web sites by producing professional code with minimal bugs
  • Experience with both Windows & Linux server environments for administration from the command line(CLI) and GUI, for troubleshooting and performance tuning of applications. 

In addition to the skill set above, the ideal candidate will be a self-starter, capable of working effectively on his/her own and working with a team. Good communication skills are mandatory, as you will be dealing with staff and clients with general support. Philly Job Opening: AIR, AS2/3, and Flash Support

At last week's meeting, we had an attendee who was there in search of potential hires for a company he is starting. I told him I would be happy to pass along his request here on the blog.

The position is part time to start, but could grow into a full time position; doing highly technical email and phone support, answering questions about AIR and Flash, but primarily about AS2 and AS3. See their post on Adobe Groups for more information:

We are looking for someone who can provide highly technical email and phone support for technical questions regarding flash actionscript (mostly as2 and as3) and air development. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years full time experience in flash actionscript. Good communication skills is a key requirement. Our budget is $500 a month for what is expected to be 8 to 10 hours of work. Candidates with a science, engineering, or math degree are preferred but not required.

This is a ground level opportunity with a company that is just getting started. This could grow to a full time position.

ColdFusion Job Opening (PA/Remote!)

I saw this posting on the CF-Jobs mailing list this morning:

This work is for an online dating website. We have been online for several years and looking for a complete fix up and overhaul/additions. We are on a ColdFusion 8 box with Windows Server 2003 running SQL Server 2008.

One owner is CF certified and the other is SQL Server certified. What we are looking for is someone that can do the grunt work and write code quickly and efficiently.

CF Contract Opening in Newtown, PA

An Atlanta-based firm working with a client in Atlanta that also has an office in Newtown, PA is looking for a Web Developer for a 6 month contract (not a full-time position). Their main responsibilities will include:

  • Working with product development groups to develop web applications utilizing ColdFusion for Talent Lifecycle Management
  • Utilize Fusebox methodology in all development activities and maintenance of existing products
  • Implement projects using Test Driven Design, state-of-the-art JAVA/J2EE and ColdFusion Technologies
  • Design User Interface using CFML and JavaScript
  • Alter existing database schema; develop effective application/system-based queries in order to avoid performance issues

CF & Flex Jobs in Easton and Downingtown

Brooksource currently has a client in Easton, PA that is looking to re-engineer one of their US Sites to be able to be used by their International Consumers and International Divisions. This is a very interactive Flash website with Rich Media Flash. The site allows for pictures to be uploaded, changes to be made, items to be added to the picture. It's a fun and creative website that is meant to be interactive. It has print functions and pulls the data using ColdFusion. They are looking for advanced programmers with a systems design background to help build it out and do the core system coding.

They are also looking for a Flash expert to work on this aspect of the project. They want this Flash Developer to come in for a 3 month period to re-engineer their current website that is very Flash-oriented. They would like for the candidate to have international site experience if possible, and to be able to work with alternative character sets and language localization within Flash. Must have an advanced knowledge of Flash/database interactivity; not just simple banner-ad work. Must be knowledgeable with localization.

Must be self-sufficient because you will be dealing with international sites that will require alternative character sets that may be unknown and require research.
